Vicky is one of our newest team members, joining us at the end of 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. Despite remote working and a lack of face-to-face contact, Vicki has done a fantastic job of slotting into the company and effectively contributing to the Acquisition Team in a short period of time.
Can you tell us a little bit about your role within the company?
Working with the Acquisition Team my role is mainly managing the marketing of in-house brands in collaboration with the team, with a particular focus on Adwords. We aim to build out budding dating markets and niches with new users, producing a healthy database with the best ROI for our partner’s traffic. I also assist new partners with website copy and building initial campaigns.
Are there any interesting projects that you are working on right now that you can tell us about?
Over the last few months, we have rebranded and built out one of our flagship casual brands, focusing on modernising and refreshing a staple brand but still with the same great functionality. It’s great to see how a flagship brand can go from strength to strength! I’m excited about working on new marketing methods outside of AdWords in the months ahead.
Are there any new trends you are noticing within the online dating space?
The pandemic has made people realise they don’t have time to waste on others they have little in common with. This has made most of us more selective with who we socialise with both online and offline. I believe the popularity of niched dating communities is growing, thriving on the user’s need for a more specific dating experience that will meet their needs much faster than a generic dating site or app.
How do you see the online dating space changing as we progress towards fewer restrictions and come out the other end of COVID-19?
I feel that online dating will continue to grow even after the pandemic. I believe many people now have more anxiety around socialising, making them more inclined to chat online more before meeting up face to face.
What’s the best place you’ve traveled to?
New York, 100%! It is such an amazing city, full of culture, history, and art! Now I have been and done the touristy things I would love to go back and do a food tour of the city. I did not eat enough hotdogs!
What do you love most about being a part of the HubStars acquisition team?
HubStars acquisition team is very close-knit and welcoming. Previously I worked as a team of one therefore I love being able to bounce ideas off one another, brainstorm, and share opinions.
How can new or existing partners get the most out of HubStars and what advice do you have to offer them?
Use the resources we have on offer and utilise your account manager! They will have the best advice on how to broaden out your dating portfolio, including the best geos to target and the most profitable dating niches and communities to build into. Several of our in-house mainstream brands are in intensive field trials of our new Affinity platform. Our team will be rolling out this Next-Gen platform to more partners soon so now is a great time to be broadening out your mainstream portfolio!
