This week we celebrate Sally our Risk Executive’s 15th year of working with the company. To highlight this amazing achievement we interviewed Sally to get an insight into her job role and experiences over this time.

Sally, many congratulations on reaching your 15th year with the company! Not many people can say they have worked for the same company for this amount of time! Do you remember your first day?

I certainly do, back then the office was in London. I felt totally unsure of myself and nervous if I’d even enjoy the job. Thankfully the rest of the team were supportive and held my hand over the first few weeks, until I felt confident in my new role and able to take the challenge on by myself.

How has your job changed over the years?

The job role I started in has totally changed and adapted as the platform has improved and updated over the years.  I am no longer in the job role I started in but now work in a different area of the company as a Risk Executive.

What has been your biggest achievement/success?

I think my biggest success has been seeing the company grow and employ more staff over the years, which has allowed me to move into the risk team. A role I really love and I work with an amazing team, who are supportive and helpful in offering advice and further support and training.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

Being part of a team, has to be the best part of my current job role, although it’s satisfying to help customers with their refunds and enquires!

What’s your favourite memory (together?) of the last 15 years?

This is a difficult one, as there has been so many, but I would have to say a few years back at our Christmas Party, when every member of the company made the effort to attend.  It just showed even if we don’t interact with every team member on a daily basis, we come together as one massive team.

Thousands of people around the world are now working from home due to COVID-19. You have successfully mastered working remotely for many years now, what are your best tips for staying productive?

Treat everyday as a normal working day and you’re going into the office. Get up, get ready and keep work in a space away from your normal living areas if possible. Try not to work outside your working hours and remember if things get tough, speak to one of the team and step away for a break. I find it easy to stay productive as I always have work coming in, that requires my attention but if I do find myself with not much work load coming in to fill my time, then I generally chase someone in the team and ask if I can help them or someone else in the team.

Just remember everything you do has an impact on someone else and that whilst you may be stuck home, you are lucky enough to have a fantastic job and fantastic associates to work alongside and help get you through the day.

Most of all keep in touch with one another whether it’s by an email, chat or phone call. I am lucky enough to work with some fantastic people and directors, who look after their staff and can’t thank them enough for their continued support and encouragement over the years. After all without this, I wouldn’t be in my current job role and look forward to being here for several more years.

On behalf of everyone, we would like to say a huge thank you for all your hard work, commitment and loyalty to the job. You are a valued member of the team and we would be lost without you, here’s to many more years!
