Festive Traffic Tips

The festive season (26 Dec – 3 Jan) presents a fantastic opportunity for increased revenues. Traffic driven during this time converts over a longer period than usual and provides increased profitability.

Google Ads:

For all campaigns, festive traffic rebills more than normal so we recommend the following:

  • Increase bids for Target CPA up to 20%
  • Add adverts to campaigns with seasonal messages combined with your usual approach to increase click through rate

For your best performing sites, you want to take advantage of the higher search volumes available:

  • Temporarily Change Target CPA setting to Manual CPC (Est. £0.40 p/c)
  • Add adverts to campaigns with seasonal messages combined with your usual approach to increase click through rate
  • Change match types on your keywords that have generated revenue in previous months from EXACT or PHRASE to be BROAD
  • Alternatively, pause your campaign, increase your Target CPA bid by up to 20% and then reactivate the campaign – This should reset the learning phase for the campaign and allow Google to seek new users whilst traffic volumes are high.

Add in references to Christmas, New Year and other seasonal terms in combination with your usual keyword approach.
